Holbeck Ghyll Country House Hotel With Stunning Lake Views - Windermere

The room we stayed in was great, with fine views and a cozy atmosphere. The hotel's location was perfect, close to beautiful walks and the lovely village of Ambleside. But what really stood out was the staff - they were so friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.

The food for breakfast could have been better, maybe a wider variety of options would have been nice.

We had a good stay at a charming hotel with fine views. Our room had a lovely terrace overlooking the picturesque surroundings. The staff were friendly and were really good too ensure our comfort. The food, especially the burgers, was delicious. We couldn't have asked for a better birthday break.

Most of staff very nice but there was a few that seemed to be 'above us'......also kettle in room wasn't dealt with as promised.

The view from my room at Holbeck Ghyll was amazing. Waking up to the beautiful sights of Lake Windermere each morning was a highlight of my stay. The room itself was comfortable and nicely furnished, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploring. The spacious bathroom was a pleasant surprise, with a large bath and shower that offered plenty of hot water.

While my overall experience at Holbeck Ghyll was wonderful, there were a couple of minor drawbacks. The service could have been better, especially during breakfast where there were some delays and mix-ups with my order.

The hotel is located in a stunning spot, with breathtaking views of Lake Windermere and the snow-capped fells in the distance. It offers a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, with friendly staff who go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. the food is exceptional, with a taster menu and wine flight that provide a fantastic dining experience. the room was beautiful and the service was excellent, making for a truly enjoyable stay.

Some areas of the hotel, such as the spa, were a bit underwhelming. the spa facilities were small and in need of repair, making it difficult for more than two people to use at a time.

The restaurant food was exceptional.

The service was varied, but the friendly staff were very keen to help at all times.
